Every day in Kenya and across Africa, women lose not just a spouse they lose their home, their economic security, their legal rights, and often their community standing, all in the same devastating moment. Widows are among the most overlooked and most vulnerable members of any society. At Stewards of Grace Ambassadors, we refuse to look away.
Our Widows Network Programme is a comprehensive, multi-layered response to the unique challenges widows face. We go beyond sympathy to deliver structured, practical support that addresses the legal, economic, social, and emotional dimensions of widowhood.
We serve widows across urban and rural Kenya: particularly those who have been economically displaced, are raising children alone, are elderly, or are living with disability. Our programme does not discriminate by denomination, ethnicity, or region.
At SGA, our widows are not passive recipients. They are active change agents. Many of our programme graduates participate in our environmental conservation efforts: planting trees, leading market clean-ups, and mentoring other women in their communities. A widow restored is a community strengthened.
Every year on 23rd June, SGA commemorates International Widows Day with advocacy events, community gatherings, and campaigns that amplify the voices and rights of widows nationally and internationally.
